Gas springs - trunk
Opening the trunk with strong gas springs is simply a luxury. Since I use my Lancer as my daily driver and I need the trunk for luggage, I took this a step further. My trunk can be opened with a foot gesture or even remotely via the internet. So it's really convenient and practical when you have both hands full.

KOS keys with panic alarm
I myself registered with the MUT3 4 KOS key with panic alarm. The panic alarm button is actually only available in America and was never offered in Europe. However, it's a feature you might need someday. I also have a Smart Key, which allows you to unlock the car simply by approaching it, and also via the app. But it's more of a nice-to-have feature. I find the original KOS keys more attractive, more practical, and not so bulky.

LEDs
I've converted quite a few lights to LEDs because they look brighter and more modern, and so far they've held up well. I have replaced the following: Side indicator Cornering lights - simply awesome in the middle of the dark fog lights License plate light Parking lights front and rear Complete interior in blue taillights

Performance enhancement
Since I own the turbodiesel, it was only a matter of time before I did a software tune. I went from the original 140 hp and 310 Nm to 183 hp and 416 Nm. It's simply awesome when accelerating.

Maxhaust sound system
The downside of the diesel engine is its poor sound. This is somewhat compensated for by the Maxhaust sound system. The speakers for the interior are mounted in the trunk. While I was at it, I also soundproofed the trunk. A nice feature if you want to drive more actively.

center console
Since I was finally planning to install the three switches after years, and I had to open the entire center console for the wiring, I went ahead and replaced the whole center console. As this is just a project overview, I'll just list the things I did: Starting, of course, with the US0000 emblem. Gear knob with red details Evo X handbrake lever with red details Carbon fiber switch plate + 3 (4) switches with functions Red decorative stitching Foot cushion OEM phone holder Red

DRL - Daytime Running Lights
I programmed the fog lights to function as daytime running lights, as this is permitted in Austria. I also installed a switch to turn the daytime running lights off.

Hood lock
Originally, my Lancer only had a regular hood lock without a switch. When the hood is open and you turn on the ignition, a warning message appears on the dashboard: "Close hood". Additionally, the built-in alarm system uses this sensor.
Michael

Windshield washer fluid sensor
Along with the hood lock, I also installed a windshield washer fluid sensor. This sends a notification to the instrument cluster as soon as the washer fluid level drops below a certain point. It's incredibly practical, especially in winter. Once the notification appears, I still have 20 comfort wash cycles before it runs out. The sensor must be enabled in ETACS.

Car wash NEW
I have made several upgrades to the car wash to create the most comfortable result for the driver: New OEM nozzles Windshield washer fluid sensor Wash the headlights twice Bosch windscreen wipers Larger passenger-side windshield wiper Comfort windscreen wipers, adjustable via the MMCS Car wash lid in red/black delayed final wipe Wash system for the reversing camera

Reversing camera with washer function
Along with the alarm system, I had a reversing camera installed in 2011. I was never a fan of parking sensors, but with a 7" navigation system, the reversing camera is definitely worth it. As part of the MMCS modifications, I also changed the reversing camera's guidelines and added my logo and the Mitsubishi logo. When I saw a video of a newer car where the reversing camera cleaned itself using a nozzle, I decided to build something like that myself. I use the function very o

Bi-Xenon bulbs
After 17 years (2008-2025), one of my xenon bulbs failed. That's quite a long time, actually. I replaced both with more powerful Osram Night Breakers, which have 200% more brightness. I hope these also last 17 years...

Paddle Shift
Most people ask me why paddle shift? I have a switch, don't I...? I've always been curious about how the paddle shifters work; it's simply a built-in button, which can be used for other things.... So the first thing I did was program the cruise control, and it works perfectly; accelerating and braking is much easier than using the buttons. It's simply an awesome feeling to accelerate on the motorway using the paddles. Since I'm a bit of a tinkerer, I also added the DTE pedal

PlayStation 2
Pure nostalgia, just sitting in the back and playing a few rounds of Burnout 3 Takedown, what could be better in your own car?....
Michael

PlayStation 3
Since I installed an XTRONS ceiling monitor with a full-HD display in the Lancer, the PlayStation 3 is a really good fit. It's always been my favorite PlayStation. Simply a multimedia center and a Blu-ray player. Just flop down in the back seat and enjoy a Blu-ray movie, or play a round of Tekken 5 or Ridge Racer 7...

My thoughts on the pre-production model from the USA – US0000
White turns to black.... The beginning is inextricably linked to the end…. I bought my Lancer back in 2009 (2008 model year), one of the first models in Austria. This Mitsubishi has always been my dream car, ever since I first saw it in a car magazine. And it still is. That's why it hurt all the more when the 10th generation Lancer series came to an end. That was 10 years ago now. At that time, I also became aware in Austria that the Final Edition was being built, but since

Over 100 years of Mitsubishi
The story of Mitsubishi Motors is a tale of engineering prowess that was often ahead of its time. While other manufacturers focused on design or luxury, Mitsubishi defined itself through technological superiority: all-wheel drive, turbocharging, and electromobility are the cornerstones of this history. 1. Evolution I-X
The story of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution – or "Evo" for short – is one of the most fascinating sagas in automotive history. Over ten generations, a simple sedan evolved into the technological spearhead of rally racing and the nightmare of established sports car manufacturers. Here is the detailed chronicle of a legend that shaped the slogan "Win on Sunday, sell on Monday" like no other brand. The origin: The birth of a legend In the early 1990s, Mitsubishi faced a challen

The scrapping
Authorities in the USA ordered Mitsubishi North America to scrap the pre-production model of the Final Edition. The series was introduced in 2015, and the car was scrapped in 2019. It had managed to remain hidden at Mitsubishi North America for a considerable amount of time. Why was it scrapped? Since pre-production models were built solely for presentation purposes, they do not have a chassis number stamped on them. Therefore, all pre-production models built in the USA will

Mitsubishi Motors
The story of Mitsubishi Motors is a tale of technological courage, industrial diversification, and the ability to constantly reinvent itself. What is known today as a global automaker has its deep roots in one of Japan's most powerful conglomerates.
