The scrapping

Authorities in the USA ordered Mitsubishi North America to scrap the pre-production model of the Final Edition. The series was introduced in 2015, and the car was scrapped in 2019. It had managed to remain hidden at Mitsubishi North America for a considerable amount of time.

Why was it scrapped?

Since pre-production models were built solely for presentation purposes, they do not have a chassis number stamped on them. Therefore, all pre-production models built in the USA will be destroyed.

Journalist and artist Maggie Stiefvater documented the Evo's final moments and was even allowed to spend another day with it.
