I myself registered with the MUT3 4 KOS key with panic alarm. The panic alarm button is actually only available in America and was never offered in Europe. However, it's a feature you might need someday. I also have a Smart Key, which allows you to unlock the car simply by approaching it, and also via the app. But it's more of a nice-to-have feature. I find the original KOS keys more attractive, more practical, and not so bulky.

I've converted quite a few lights to LEDs because they look brighter and more modern, and so far they've held up well. Since I own the turbodiesel, it was only a matter of time before I did a software tune. I went from the original 140 hp and 310 Nm to 183 hp and 416 Nm. It's simply awesome when accelerating.

The downside of the diesel engine is its poor sound. This is somewhat compensated for by the Maxhaust sound system. The speakers for the interior are mounted in the trunk. While I was at it, I also soundproofed the trunk. A nice feature if you want to drive more actively.

Since I was finally planning to install the three switches after years, and I had to open the entire center console for the wiring, I went ahead and replaced the whole center console. I programmed the fog lights to function as daytime running lights, as this is permitted in Austria. I also installed a switch to turn the daytime running lights off.

Originally, my Lancer only had a regular hood lock without a switch. When the hood is open and you turn on the ignition, a warning message appears on the dashboard: "Close hood". Additionally, the built-in alarm system uses this sensor.

Along with the hood lock, I also installed a windshield washer fluid sensor. This sends a notification to the instrument cluster as soon as the washer fluid level drops below a certain point. It's incredibly practical, especially in winter. Once the notification appears, I still have 20 comfort wash cycles before it runs out. The sensor must be enabled in ETACS.

Along with the alarm system, I had a reversing camera installed in 2011. I was never a fan of parking sensors, but with a 7" navigation system, the reversing camera is definitely worth it. As part of the MMCS modifications, I also changed the reversing camera's guidelines and added my logo and the Mitsubishi logo. After 17 years (2008-2025), one of my xenon bulbs failed. That's quite a long time, actually. I replaced both with more powerful Osram Night Breakers, which have 200% more brightness. I hope these also last 17 years...

Most people ask me why paddle shift? I have a switch, don't I...? I've always been curious about how the paddle shifters work; it's simply a built-in button, which can be used for other things.... So the first thing I did was program the cruise control, and it works perfectly; accelerating and braking is much easier than using the buttons. Since I installed an XTRONS ceiling monitor with a full-HD display in the Lancer, the PlayStation 3 is a really good fit. It's always been my favorite PlayStation. Simply a multimedia center and a Blu-ray player. Just flop down in the back seat and enjoy a Blu-ray movie, or play a round of Tekken 5 or Ridge Racer 7...
